The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Roche Products (India) Pvt. Ltd. to support DPIIT-recognised startups focused on critical therapeutic areas, including oncology, neurology, ophthalmology, haematology, and rare diseases. Under this collaboration, Roche India will extend mentorship through global experts, enable pilot and validation studies, and facilitate access to advanced technologies, infrastructure, and international platforms to scale up innovative health solutions.
The MoU was signed by Director, DPIIT, Dr. Sumeet Jarangal, and Managing Director, Roche Products (India) Pvt. Ltd., Ms. Rajwinder Mehdwan, in the presence of senior officials. The partnership aims to guide startups on regulatory processes, intellectual property, and global health standards, and promote real-world validation of innovations. Joint Secretary, DPIIT, Mr. Sanjiv Singh, emphasised the significance of industry–startup collaboration in mainstreaming disruptive health technologies. The initiative will also focus on building capacity in Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Good Clinical Practices (GCP), and patient engagement. This collaboration reinforces DPIIT’s vision to establish India as a global hub for inclusive and patient-centric health innovation.
