Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) inks Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a private digital platform to boost inclusive entrepreneurship Across India

To strengthen inclusive entrepreneurship and deepen the startup ecosystem, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with YourStory Media Private Limited. This collaboration focuses on nurturing startups, promoting innovation, and advancing entrepreneurship, particularly across tier-II, tier-III, and rural India. Under the Bharat Project, the initiative aims to empower one million entrepreneurs through artificial intelligence (AI) driven tools, venture launchpads, and regional language storytelling efforts.
The partnership will also harness leading startup events and developer-centric platforms to boost engagement within India's dynamic startup and tech ecosystem. These channels will be utilised to facilitate innovation showcases, investor-founder connections, and sectoral support in areas such as AI, generative AI (GenAI), data, and blockchain. Highlighting the importance of inclusivity, DPIIT Joint Secretary Mr. Sanjiv Singh remarked that the initiative would broaden access to critical resources and success narratives, especially for aspiring entrepreneurs from underserved communities. The MoU was officially signed by DPIIT Deputy Secretary Mr. Rajesh Kumar and Founder & CEO of YourStory and The Bharat Project Ms. Shradha Sharma, in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.
