Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) signs pact with Ather Energy to strengthen Electric Vehicle (EV) manufacturing

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Electric Vehicle (EV) manufacturer Ather Energy to foster growth and innovation within India’s EV and manufacturing startup ecosystem. This collaboration aims to provide strategic mentorship and infrastructure support to deep-tech startups engaged in the EV value chain, including areas such as battery technology, vehicle manufacturing, and clean energy solutions. By leveraging Ather Energy’s industry expertise and DPIIT’s policy support, the initiative will help startups overcome early-stage challenges, encouraging them to contribute meaningfully to India’s ambitious goals in sustainable mobility and energy security.
Joint Secretary, DPIIT, Mr. Sanjiv Singh, highlighted that this partnership is expected to significantly boost the EV manufacturing landscape by nurturing homegrown innovation and strengthening India’s position in the global EV market. Startups will benefit from access to mentorship, technical know-how, and manufacturing infrastructure, creating a vibrant ecosystem capable of driving technological advancements and enhancing clean energy adoption.
