As part of the G20 Summit, India will display its indigenously built applications to dignitaries visiting the Digital India experience zone on September 9 and 10.
India's leading platforms, such as Aadhaar, Unified Payment Interface (UPI), and Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), among others, would be among the apps on display. Along with this, guests will also see a brand-new programme called GITA, which offers spiritual lessons from the Shrimad Bhagwat Gita.
Furthermore, the experience zone will provide visitors with access to various locally built programmes such as Digilocker, MyGov, and the Umang app (used to provide residents with a variety of e-governance services). G20 delegates will be able to access all event-related information via the G20 India app.
The G20 India app offers multilingual basic navigation to handle the five United Nations languages as well as certain more languages such as Hindi, German, Japanese, and Portuguese. The app will also provide G20 and engagement group workstreams, virtual tours, navigation, and the most recent social media feeds.
The app was created primarily as a platform for participants, including foreign delegates and media, to register for various working groups and meetings held over the previous six months as well as the upcoming summit. However, it also provides a comprehensive collection of information, media releases, images, maps, and details about the key G20 events for regular users.
The app is available for download on both Android and iOS devices, and over 10,000 people have already downloaded it from Google's Play Store. The app was introduced by the Ministry of External Affairs in November 2022.
