Direct tax collections jumps up by 24% to US$ 110 billion (Rs. 8.77 trillion)

The net direct tax collection jumped by 24% to US$ 110 billion (Rs. 8.77 trillion) in April-November 2022, as per the Finance Ministry. This is the representation of 61.79% of the full year Budget Estimates (BE) of direct tax collection for 2022-23.
The Ministry said, "Direct tax collection net of refund stands at Rs 8.77 lakh crore as of November 30, which is 24.26% higher than the net collection for the corresponding period last year.”
The BE direct tax collection in this fiscal year is also more than the last fiscal (2021-22).
