Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) showcases ‘Trade Connect’ ePlatform to empower Indian exporters with Global Market Access Tools at IIGF and Toy Biz International Expo

To boost MSME participation in global trade, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, showcased its ‘Trade Connect’ ePlatform at two major B2B expos, the 71st India International Garment Fair (IIGF) and the 16th Toy Biz International B2B Expo 2025. IIGF, held at Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, saw 360+ Indian exhibitors presenting to buyers from 79 countries. Trade Connect’s booth garnered praise from Hon’ble Minister of State for Textiles & Foreign Affairs, Mr. Pabitra Margherita, for its utility in equipping Indian exporters with access to verified international buyers and reliable trade information. At the Toy Biz Expo in Bharat Mandapam, live demonstrations displayed the platform’s ability to streamline global market entry and build exporter confidence across sectors. These exhibitions served as vital outreach points for enhancing awareness and uptake of digital export tools by MSMEs.
Trade Connect offers a unified digital gateway for export-related services and information, incorporating support from Indian Missions, Export Promotion Councils, Commodity Boards, and relevant departments. The platform provides up-to-date trade data on tariffs, certifications, e-commerce, buyer directories, and global events, all tailored to MSME requirements in simplified formats. It also facilitates the issuance and verification of preferential and non-preferential certificates of origin through a secure, paperless process involving authorised agencies. Additionally, exporters have access to multilingual interactive courses on export procedures. Looking ahead, DGFT plans to extend its outreach via Trade Connect at forthcoming events, including World Food India 2025 in New Delhi and the India International Jewellery Show in Mumbai. This strategic visibility aims to scale platform adoption and widen access to international trade opportunities for Indian exporters.
