US food delivery company DoorDash will create more than 3,000 jobs in India over the next two years through a global technology hub inaugurated in Hyderabad on September 30, 2026, according to the Telangana government. The centre will initially house teams handling customer support and general and administrative functions, with 500 professionals in the first phase. It will be DoorDash’s third owned Customer Experience and Integrity hub globally, alongside facilities in Tempe, Arizona, and Mexico City. The Hyderabad facility is the company’s second technology office in India after Pune, where it operates software, data and analytics teams following its 2021 acquisition of robotics start-up Chowbotics. Telangana Minister for Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Industries and Commerce, Mr. D. Sridhar Babu, said the facility strengthens Hyderabad’s growing hyperlocal digital commerce ecosystem. DoorDash operates across more than 40 countries and recorded more than Rs. 8.89 lakh crore (US$ 100 billion) in Marketplace Gross Order Value in 2025.

The development adds to Hyderabad’s expanding global capability centre (GCC) ecosystem, with companies including Costco, McDonald’s, Charles Schwab, Marriott and Southwest Airlines establishing offshore centres in the city. Companies are increasingly setting up GCCs in India to undertake technology, customer support, administrative and other global functions while reducing dependence on external service providers. India currently hosts 2,117 GCCs operating across 3,728 units and employing around 2.36 million professionals, with the ecosystem generating Rs. 8.70 lakh crore (US$ 98.40 billion) in revenue in FY26, according to the Nasscom-Zinnov GCC Landscape Report 2026. The report also noted that India’s GCC base has grown 32% since FY21, highlighting the country’s expanding role in supporting global technology and business operations.
