The Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, the Minister for Earth Sciences, and the Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy, and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh announced the launch of a special women's site for grants and funding for research. The portal will be operational from April 1, 2023. The Minister was speaking at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research's (CSIR) International Women's Day celebration.
He stated that as of April 1, 2023, an exclusive site for CSIR-Research ASPIRE's Funds for Women Scientists will be up for business. This decision was made by the CSIR Council. On December 17, 2022, under the chairmanship of Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Governing Body of the CSIR accepted the proposal to invite research funding proposals from women scientists under the Extramural Research Program.
The proposal's overall budget, including the research fellow's stipend, should typically not go over (US$ 30,473-36,568) (Rs 25-30 lakhs). According to Dr. Jitendra Singh, this project supports Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi's efforts to empower women and advance "Nari Shakti" throughout the nation. The Central Leather Research Institute of the CSIR has provided women entrepreneurs with a 15% discount on CSIR technologies in addition to a variety of training programmes covering the full range of CSIR domains as part of its ongoing efforts to empower women.
