Dr. Jitendra Singh discusses future Science & Technology collaborations with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Government of Mexico

The Minister of Science and Technology and Earth Sciences Dr. Jitendra Singh met with Mexico Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrard to discuss increased technological cooperation between the two countries. He emphasised the importance of expanding existing cooperation between India and Mexico to new sectors such as vaccines, information technology, the green revolution, health, biotechnology, and space.

Dr. Jitendra mentioned that in the coming years, India is interested in renewing The Programme of Cooperation (PoC), with a particular focus on cooperation in the areas of health, human security, and energy.

Dr Shekhar Mande, Director General, Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, said earlier in a separate meeting with a Mexican delegation that CSIR is India's premier R&D organisation, with 37 research laboratories spread across the country with expertise in diverse S&T disciplines, and that it has been instrumental in building India-Mexico relations, and that it would like to continue strengthening research links with our peers in Mexico.
