The Eastern Railway has completed construction on the 41-kilometer Hansdiha-Godda branch, bringing the total electrification of its 2,848-kilometer network to 100%.
Comprehensive electrification will greatly reduce carbon emissions and assist the Indian Railway in meeting its goal of making the country's railway network carbon neutral by 2030.
The Hansdiha-Godda segment has a 41-kilometer track length and a 103 kmph speed trial was conducted by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS).
