Efforts to make ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has introduced several initiatives to bolster the National Statistical System and support the ‘Viksit Bharat’ vision by 2047. These efforts aim to provide high-quality data for data-driven decision-making, focusing on improving data collection, processing, dissemination, and infrastructure. Key initiatives include conducting national sample surveys on socio-economic subjects like health, education, and labour & employment, using digital platforms with in-built validation mechanisms to reduce time lags.

Additionally, MoSPI releases estimates for Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Consumer Price Index (CPI), and Index of Industrial Production (IIP) as per the Advance Release Calendar (ARC). The eSankhyiki portal was launched to offer time series data of key macro indicators and a catalogue of major data assets. Moreover, Grant-in-Aid support under the Support for Statistical Strengthening (SSS) scheme has been provided to States and Union Territories (UTs) to enhance their statistical capabilities. This information was shared by the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for MoSPI and Planning, Mr. Rao Inderjit Singh, in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha.
