On the sidelines of COP27 on Monday, Union Minister for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, and Labour and Employment, Mr. Bhupender Yadav, unveiled the MoEFCC-UNDP Compendium "Prayaas Se Prabhaav Tak - From Mindless Consumption to Mindful Utilization."
Speaking at the "Understanding the Concept of LiFE" event, the minister stated that the global effort to combat climate change is at a crucial point that calls for contributions from all stakeholders, including each individual, in order to ensure a sustainable and just future.
Egypt and India are two instances of ancient civilizations with sustainable lifestyle practises ingrained in their culture and customs, continued Mr. Yadav. "India has proven to the world that environmental protection is the cornerstone of India's policy-making process, thanks in large part to the visionary leadership of our Prime Minister."
The minister described Mission LiFE as a global mass movement that encourages individuals to lead environmentally conscientious lives. "Mission LIFE is a movement that emphasises the purposeful and thoughtful use of resources rather than mindless and wasteful consumption. In addition to being a movement that embraces diversity and makes each person a trustee of our ecosystem, this aims to safeguard and preserve the environment."
