Equity AUM of mutual funds rises more than 10% month-on-month in July

According to a report by Motilal Oswal, equity assets under management (AUM) of domestic mutual funds increased 10.3% month on month to Rs. 15.2 lakh crore (US$ 191.61 billion) in July 2022 as the market recovered after two straight months of loss.

AUM for mutual funds as a whole climbed to Rs. 37.7 trillion (US$ 0.48 billion) in July 2022, a 5.9% month-on-month gain. The increase in AUM for equity funds, other ETFs, balanced, and income funds were Rs. 1,412 billion (US$ 17.8 billion), Rs. 380 billion (US$ 4.79 billion), Rs. 210 billion (US$ 2.65 billion), and Rs. 179 billion (US$ 2.26 billion) respectively.

The weights of NBFCs, private banks, consumers, retail, automobiles, capital goods, PSU banks, metals, cement, and media increased on a month-on-month basis, while the weights of oil & gas, technology, telecom, healthcare, and utilities remained stable.
