According to a report, several automakers are preparing for an early 2026 product launch with forthcoming electric vehicles (EVs), while sport utility vehicles (SUVs) will continue to dominate newly introduced products. Initially, most of the automakers will have multiple EV model introductions within each of the various segments, indicative of the larger collective industry's preference regarding rolling out electric options as well as the growing emphasis on cleaner mobility through improved technologies. In addition, automakers will be launching and updating an array of new SUV models to continue meeting the demand from consumers for utility-style vehicles with advanced features and capabilities.
According to the report, competition within India's automotive industry is likely to increase due to anticipated EV and SUV launches. Automakers are developing their products to meet changing consumer needs, governmental policies that promote EVs, and consumer demand for technologically enhanced vehicles. Planned EV and SUV releases represent a continuing change in the auto industry's existing product mix based upon market conditions.
