India’s exports increased by 5.37% YoY to reach US$ 27.24 billion in January 2021, driven by positive growth in pharmaceuticals and engineering sectors, according to provisional data of the commerce ministry.
Imports in January 2021 increased by 2% to reach US$ 42 billion, leaving a trade deficit of US$ 14.75 billion, the data showed.
Exports of pharmaceuticals and engineering increased by 16.4% (US$ 293 million), and ~ 19% (US$ 1.16 billion), respectively.
