Exports rise to US$ 13.72 billion during Apr 1-14: Commerce Ministry data

According to preliminary data from the Commerce Ministry, the country's exports increased to US$ 13.72 billion from April 1-14, 2021, attributable to a strong growth rate in sectors such as engineering and gems and jewellery.

The total value of exports from April 1-14, 2020 was US$ 3.59 billion.

The figures indicates that imports increased to US$ 19.93 billion in the review period, up from US$ 6.54 billion in the same period last year.

The ministry will announce the final figures for April 2021 in mid-May.

Exports increased by 60.29% to US$ 34.45 billion in March 2021. The outbound shipments stood at US$ 290.63 billion in FY21.
