During a meeting of External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar with ambassadors from European Union countries, the latter emphasized that better ties between India and the European Union could play an important role in ‘de-risking’ the global economy by establishing unimpeachable supply chains. External Affairs Minister Dr. Jaishankar pointed out to the ambassadors that volatility and uncertainty have emerged as a 'new normal' today, which makes better ties indispensable. The External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar highlighted that better ties between New Delhi and Brussels would lead to a more stable international order, which would contribute significantly to sustainable economic resilience. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar stated that, being like-minded democratic countries, India and the European Union have all that it takes to address emerging global issues together.
External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar also stressed that by building stronger bonds of friendship between India and the European Union, they can provide greater security to the global community by providing crucial public services such as humanitarian assistance, disaster relief operations, combating piracy, and developing these nations. This dialogue can also highlight how these areas, when addressed mutually as global entities facing a pressing need to fight these issues together, can strengthen multilateralism as global uncertainties have increased geopolitically. The External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar took to social media to reassure that they are committed to expanding relations between India and Europe by entering a partnership that is mutually expansive. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar is also eager to witness the visits to India for the Republic Day celebration from European Council President Mr. António Costa and European Commission President Ms. Ursula von der Leyen.
