Finolex Cables Ltd is looking to strengthen its presence in North-East India, particularly in Assam, supported by the government’s continued focus on infrastructure development and electrification. The company views the region as a key long-term growth market, with improving connectivity enabling expansion into newer geographies. According to company officials, the North-East has been witnessing steady traction over the past few years, with revenue from the region doubling in the last four years, driven by expanding distribution networks and rising brand preference.

Currently, the eastern region contributes around 15% to the company’s overall revenue, with North-East states accounting for nearly 17% of the regional sales. The company expects the region to emerge as a significant contributor to its business over the next two to three years, supported by sustained demand momentum. Key growth drivers include increased government investments in roads, railways and housing, alongside schemes aimed at improving rural electrification and power distribution infrastructure. Additionally, the growing focus on solar power projects is further boosting demand for wires and cables in the region. The company emphasised that the growth trend is structural and long-term, rather than a short-term spike, reflecting broader development activity across the North-East.
