The Fisheries Investors and Exporters Conclave 2026 was held in Bhopal on October 23, 2026. It was organised by the Government of Madhya Pradesh with the Department of Fisheries, Government of India, and the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB). At the conclave, Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying and Panchayati Raj Mr. Rajiv Ranjan Singh and Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Dr. Mohan Yadav released the Madhya Pradesh Fisheries Investment and Export Guidelines, 2026. They also released the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of Inland State Export Potential. Administrative approval was handed over under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) for the integrated development of 49 reservoirs and five Amrit Sarovars in the state. This development carries an investment of Rs. 88.25 crore (US$ 9.32 million).

Mr. Rajiv Ranjan Singh noted that inland states contribute only 2% of total fisheries exports, despite a 147% increase in fish production in these states. To address this, Mr. Rajiv Ranjan Singh called for scientific cage and pen culture, quality certification and traceability. Secretary of the Department of Fisheries Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi stated that the share of freshwater species such as Pangasius and Tilapia in seafood exports is targeted to rise from 2% to 10% over the next five years. Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Mr. Ashok Barnwal outlined plans to raise the state’s fish production from 4.5 lakh tonnes to 10-11 lakh tonnes over the next two to three years.
