India’s flexi-staffing industry continued its upward trajectory in FY26, registering an 8% year-on-year increase in new employment, according to the latest Annual Report of the Indian Staffing Federation (ISF). The industry added 1.18 lakh new formal flexi workers over the past 12 months, taking the total formal flexi workforce represented by ISF members to 1.91 million. The growth comes despite cautious market conditions during 2025 and early 2026, influenced by global geopolitical uncertainties and economic headwinds. The report highlights the resilience of India’s staffing ecosystem, which has emerged as a significant contributor to formal employment generation across sectors.

The report noted that the growing emphasis on formal employment has played a crucial role in bringing more workers into structured flexi-staffing arrangements. This trend has not only strengthened workforce participation but has also expanded access to formal job opportunities, particularly for first-time job seekers and fresh graduates. According to ISF, the staffing industry has become an important channel for connecting businesses with agile talent solutions while supporting broader economic stability. The federation stated that India’s staffing ecosystem has demonstrated structural maturity, enabling it to sustain employment growth even amid global macroeconomic challenges. The report also highlighted positive momentum in the IT staffing segment during FY26, reflecting continued demand for skilled professionals and flexible workforce models.
