E-commerce leader Flipkart announced on Monday that it has generated over 2.2 lakh seasonal job opportunities across supply chain, logistics, and last-mile delivery operations in preparation for the upcoming festive season. The company also revealed plans to set up 650 additional festive-only delivery hubs in tier II and III cities, enhancing its distribution capabilities. Flipkart stated that these efforts are part of its broader strategy to scale employment, infrastructure, and technology deployment across 28 states, ensuring an ecosystem-first approach to meet festive season demand.

The company highlighted its focus on inclusive hiring, with a 10% increase in female recruitment and additional opportunities for persons with disabilities (PwD). These measures are aimed at strengthening its workforce diversity while meeting heightened seasonal demand. Flipkart’s announcement comes shortly after Amazon India disclosed the creation of 1.5 lakh seasonal jobs across its fulfilment centres, sortation hubs, and last-mile delivery stations, signalling robust hiring activity in the e-commerce sector ahead of the festive period.
