The goal of the Union Budget 2022-23 is to make the agriculture industry contemporary and smart, according to Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. In a post-budget webinar on smart agriculture, he said the agriculture budget has expanded by a factor of six in just six years, while farm loans for farmers have climbed by a factor of 2.5 in seven years.
The government has taken various efforts for the entire agro value chain from seed to market in the last seven years, as well as improved old processes, when discussing how the Budget will contribute to boosting the agriculture sector.
Seven primary paths for making agriculture modern and smart were presented in the recent Budget. Natural farming on a mission basis along the Ganges with 5 km wide corridors on both sides of the river, making modern technology available, and offering regular financial services at more than 1.5 lakh post offices are among them. Entrepreneurs are urged to join in establishing a nationwide network of soil testing facilities. Some new measures have been included in this budget that will minimise carbon emissions while also providing greater cash to farmers.
