Commerce and Industry Minister Mr. Piyush Goyal highlighted the potential for India’s food, beverage, and marine product exports to reach Rs. 863,200 crore (US$ 100 billion) within the next four to five years, driven by strong global demand. During an interaction with industry stakeholders, he emphasised the need for companies to focus on quality, nutrition, and sustainability in their offerings. He expressed confidence that this target is achievable and urged the industry to collaborate in driving exports to this level.
To support this growth, the government is expanding testing laboratories nationwide to improve production quality. The remarks were made during the Indusfood 2025 exhibition in Greater Noida, where he underscored the importance of the food and beverage sector in achieving this ambitious export goal.
