According to NSDL data, so far in July 2021, Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPI) have been net sellers in the equity segment in India and withdrew net investments worth Rs. 2,249 crore (US$ 301.97 million) from the equities.
Mr. Shrikant Chouhan, Kotak Securities' Executive Vice President, Equity Technical Research, said, “So far in July 2021, FPIs have been net seller in equities in India. All major emerging markets and Asian markets have registered FPI outflows this month so far."
He said, "Crude oil prices and the US Fed monetary policy could be a challenge for FPI flows to India. Going forward, the market is expected to be observed on bond yields, oil prices, inflation and the pace of the coronavirus pandemic.”
In 2021 (until July 2021 so far), the net FPIs investments stands at Rs. 58,095 crore (US$ 7.80 billion). In June 2021, net investment stood at Rs. 17,215 crore (US$ 2.31 billion) into the equities segment.
