Gadkari lays foundation for two national highways projects worth ₹1,800 cr

Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Mr. Nitin Gadkari, laid the foundation for two national highway projects costing Rs. 1,791.46 crore (US$ 234.37 million) in Dhule, Maharashtra, on April 22.

The projects, according to Mr. Gadkari, will help the economic development of the Dhule and Nandurbar districts and create new job possibilities in the region.

These projects, which are part of the Bharatmala initiative, would offer new and high-quality roads to the Dhule-Nandurbar districts and improve Maharashtra's connectivity with Gujarat, Karnataka, and other states. The Minister noted that this will assist to alleviate traffic congestion in Dhule and Chalisgaon.

Once completed, the projects would make it easier for visitors to reach tourist spots such as Brass Caves and Gautala Sanctuary, the world-famous Ajanta Caves and Daulatabad Fort, and the Chalisgaon Railway Station. Religious sites like Dhule and Aurangabad would also be easily accessible. The Shewali-Nandurbar road project will help the region's tribal areas grow.
