Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in India are set to create 4.25-4.5 lakh new jobs this year, with the sector expected to generate one million jobs in the next six years and 3.3 million professionals employed by 2030. India has become the top destination for GCCs due to its skilled workforce and supportive policies. A report by NLB Services reveals that companies are planning significant workforce expansions, with 35% aiming to increase their teams by 50-100%. Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, and Chennai are driving this demand, with 42% of GCCs forecasting a 50% workforce increase by 2030, particularly in sectors like technology, finance, manufacturing, and sustainability.
The report also highlights a sharp rise in hiring women, with 61% of GCCs planning to increase their female workforce by over 50% by 2030, a significant leap from the 7% expecting similar growth this year. India's GCC market is expected to expand to over 2,100 centers by 2030, reaching a market size of nearly Rs. 8.76 lakh crore (US$ 100 billion). As part of the upcoming GCC 4.0, critical skills in financial services, marketing, digital advertising, engineering, manufacturing, and talent management will be in high demand. The national framework introduced in the FY26 Budget is expected to further accelerate growth, especially in Tier II and III cities, with a continued focus on niche skills.
