Highlighting his administration's comprehensive initiatives to alleviate farmers' challenges, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi announced Monday that each beneficiary has received US$ 36.1 billion (Rs. 30,000 crore) under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. He remarked on the historical tendency of past governments to have a limited focus on issues about farmers.
During a virtual interaction with the 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra beneficiaries,' Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi emphasized the yatra's objective of ensuring no eligible beneficiary is excluded from government schemes. Since the launch of the yatra, approximately 12 lakh new beneficiaries have applied for free gas connections under the Ujjwala scheme. Notably, over 2 crore health check-ups have been conducted during this period, and around one crore people have been screened for Tuberculosis.
Discussing the discourse on farmers and farm policy in the country, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi noted that previous governments had a restricted scope, mainly focusing on crop production and sale. He highlighted that farmers encounter numerous challenges in their daily lives, prompting his government to make comprehensive efforts to address every difficulty they face.
