The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has invited proposals for the Create in India Challenge Season 2 under the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2027, reinforcing India’s efforts to strengthen its media and entertainment ecosystem through industry-led innovation and talent development. The initiative aims to identify, nurture and showcase emerging creative talent by organising industry-driven, government-supported challenges across diverse segments of the media and entertainment sector. The programme will focus on promoting upskilling, capacity building and innovation in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), digital media, animation, gaming and other technology-driven creative industries, while fostering greater collaboration between industry, academia and young creators.

The selected challenges will culminate in the CreatoSphere showcase during WAVES 2027, providing participants with a global platform to present innovative solutions and creative excellence. To facilitate transparent selection, the Ministry has launched a unified digital portal for proposal submissions and challenge evaluation through a merit-based process. Eligible organisations from across the media and entertainment ecosystem can submit proposals through the WAVES Bazaar portal until July 31, 2026, with the Government offering a one-time grant of up to Rs. 1 crore (US$ 1.06 million) for each selected challenge. The initiative is expected to accelerate innovation, strengthen India's creative economy and position the country as a global hub for digital content creation and next-generation media technologies.
