Govt support, funds needed for innovation in traditional medicine: Tedros

Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus, Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), stated during the opening ceremony of the three-day Global Ayush Investment and Innovation Summit that long-term strategic investments, as well as government backing, are critical for supporting innovation in conventional medicine.
Innovators, business, and government must work together to create traditional medicine in a way that is sustainable, environmentally conscious, and equitable. It must be ensured that the communities who cultivated and passed on this expertise benefit from their progress when introducing traditional medicines into markets.
