Growth Hubs: Govt to run pilot for growth hubs programme in four cities: Minister of State for Planning Mr. Rao Inderjit Singh

In response to an inquiry in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Planning Mr. Rao Inderjit Singh announced that the Government has selected the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Varanasi, Surat, and Visakhapatnam as the pilot locations for its inaugural project under the Growth Hubs program.

Minister of State for Planning, Mr. Rao Inderjit Singh, articulated that the Growth Hubs program represents a strategic initiative designed to cultivate city regions methodically.

This aligns with the overarching economic objective of positioning India as a US$ 30 trillion (Rs. 2,500.75 trillion) economy by 2047, as delineated in the Viksit Bharat plan. The central aim of the Growth Hubs program is to establish a comprehensive framework for crafting tailored economic growth strategies for identified city-regions throughout the country. Moreover, it endeavours to articulate a detailed roadmap for effectively implementing these strategies, encompassing multifaceted aspects of development.
