GST collection over Rs. 1.51 trillion (US$ 18.29 billion) in October, second highest ever

Due to increased demand over the holiday season, higher rates, and improved tax compliance, India's tax revenue from the sale of goods and services surged to Rs. 1.51 (US$ 18.29 trillion) in October.
As many as 83 million e-way bills were generated in September 2022 as opposed to 77 million in August 2022.
Next to April 2022, the revenue for October is the second-highest monthly collection. It is also the second time that the overall GST collection has surpassed the Rs. 1.50 trillion (US$ 18.17 billion) threshold.
