HCLTech, the Indian IT major, has been chosen by Hong Kong Aero Engine Services Ltd (HAESL) to transform its aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) business by revamping its MRO operations at HAESL’s location in Hong Kong. The aim is to implement HCLTech’s iMRO/4 enterprise asset management solution, integrated with SAP S/4HANA, as the Maintenance Execution System (MES) solution. The aim is to improve HAESL’s engine maintenance process from the time an engine is received until it is delivered, providing a unified and comprehensive view of all maintenance processes. The proposed upgrade is expected to enhance traceability and real-time visibility of data, allowing for rapid decision-making, optimal resource allocation, and scalable processes in a highly complex engine maintenance environment in the aviation sector. This development is part of the larger industry-wide focus on achieving operational excellence and data-driven transformation in aviation support services.
According to Hong Kong Aero Engine Services Ltd (HAESL’s) management, the proposed project will enhance the company’s operational efficiency and enable it to meet the stringent global aviation requirements, positioning the company for future growth as the demand for engine maintenance services increases with the increase in air travel around the world. This new business win is expected to further solidify HCLTech’s expanding presence in high-value domains such as aerospace and specialized maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, underlining the company’s capabilities in providing sophisticated digital solutions aligned with the most demanding industrial processes. This project is also expected to enhance HCLTech’s position with global airlines and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) companies that are seeking to transform their outdated technology infrastructure in response to growing competition and stricter regulations.
