Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp are preparing to ride into the middle weight motorcycle segment (350cc and above to 850cc) in the largest two-wheeler market in the world, two years after hitching a ride with Hero MotoCorp.

The first co-developed model is anticipated to be released under the Harley and Hero MotoCorp names by the end of the fiscal year 2023–24. It will be sold independently through the two brands' sales channels. This will be the first of the range of premium models Hero and Harley are co-developing.

The two partners are in advanced stages of designing the middleweight category premium motorbike that will be introduced to the Indian market by the end of FY24.

The next model will be Harley's most affordable offering and represents the company's second foray into the mass market for reasonably priced motorcycles.

The iconic American motorcycle maker hopes to return to India after seeing success from its partnership with the nation's top two-wheeler manufacturer. Harley Davidson has reclaimed market leadership in India's 1000cc-and-above segment owing to a redesigned sales network, aggressive marketing campaigns, and customer-connect activities.
