Hindustan Power has signed a power purchase agreement with the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL) to establish a 435-megawatt direct current (MW DC) solar power project. According to the company, the agreement includes supplying clean electricity to the state for 25 years. This project supports the Uttar Pradesh government’s ambitious plan of achieving 22,000 MW of clean energy capacity by FY27.
The solar project, secured through a competitive bidding process in April 2025, will not only provide sustainable energy but also create new employment opportunities, contributing to the socio-economic development of the region. Chairman of Hindustan Power, Mr. Ratul Puri, stated that the company is progressing rapidly to ensure seamless execution of site development and stakeholder engagement. He added that this initiative reflects Hindustan Power’s commitment to delivering reliable renewable energy and aligns with Uttar Pradesh’s vision of becoming a trillion-dollar economy.
