India has significant opportunities to enhance its share in the global agricultural trade, valued at Rs. 1,71,80,00,00 crore (US$ 2 trillion). Although it ranks as the seventh-largest agricultural exporter, India’s global share is just 2.4%, revealing substantial growth potential. Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) Chairman Mr. Abhishek Dev highlighted those agricultural exports reached approximately Rs. 4,29,50,00,00 crore (US$ 50 billion) in 2023-24, intending to set a record this year. There is a strong emphasis on promoting value-added goods and increasing India’s presence in the global organic market, valued at Rs. 1,26,27,30 crore (US$ 147 billion). The government aims to quadruple India’s organic exports in five years.
The Indusfood 2025 exhibition in Greater Noida is a key step in bridging the gap in global agricultural trade. With over 2,300 exhibitors from 30 countries and 7,500 international buyers, the event will foster international collaboration, drive innovation, and connect farmers to global markets, enhancing their income potential. Specialized fairs like Indusfood Manufacturing and Indusfood Agritech will highlight India’s food processing, packaging technology, and agricultural innovation advancements.
