Data centre services provider, CtrlS Datacenters announced that it will focus on new technologies and invest US$ 2 billion over the next six years.

The investment, according to the Hyderabad-based company, would add 350 megawatts (MW) of cloud-ready hyperscale data centres (DCs) and artificial intelligence (AI) to India and certain Southeast Asian markets. The company operates 12 DCs of 234 MW in Patna, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Hyderabad, Noida, and Lucknow.

In six years, the company plans to hire over 1,000 people, primarily in the senior leader category.

According to Mr. Sridhar Pinnapureddy, Founder and Chairman of CtrlS Datacenters, in a company statement, “We aspire to not only bolster our presence across key markets delivering the next generation of data centre technology but also to elevate the standard for the entire data centre industry through pioneering services and sustainable practices.”

A part of the US$ 2 billion will be used to achieve carbon neutrality for the company by 2030. CtrlS Datacenters is making investments in solar projects that will produce 250,000 megawatt hours (MWh) of energy yearly in three different markets. The company will own and operate a 145 MWp solar facility in Maharashtra. It is the intention of CtrlS Datacenters to fund another 300 MWp of projects by 2025.

According to CtrlS Datacenters, their multi-pronged approach transcends renewable energy sources in order to attain their net-zero targets. In order to achieve its aim of using entirely recycled water in its data centres, it is deploying technologies.
