Hyundai ties up with Tata Power to set up fast-charging EV infrastructure

Hyundai Motor India announced on May 17 that it has partnered with Tata Power to install fast-charging electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure at a number of its outlets across India. Hyundai will provide space and essential administrative approvals through its dealerships, while Tata Power will operate and maintain the charging stations.

Through the Hyundai and Tata Power EZ Charge Mobile App, 60 kW DC charging stations will be deployed at the company's 34 EV dealerships in 29 locations to cater to all kinds of electric vehicles. Such strategic partnerships are critical in speeding customer adoption of electric vehicles to meet the country's carbon neutrality objective, said Mr. Unsoo Kim, MD & CEO of Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL).

Hyundai EV owners will benefit from special pricing and end-to-end home charging solutions, from supply to installation, as part of the partnership. The partnership with Hyundai Motor India is in line with the Indian government's National Electric Mobility Mission Plan, and it highlights the commitment to India's clean energy and net-zero goals, said Mr. Praveer Sinha, MD and CEO of Tata Power.
