Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Railways, and Electronics & Information Technology, Mr. Ashwini Vaishnaw, stated, the Government is actively supporting India's film production ecosystem through its Development, Communication, & Dissemination of Filmic Content Scheme. The policy architecture is designed to enhance India's position as a global content and production hub, while at the same time providing greater international visibility for Indian cinema, co-productions, and film-related creative service industries. Recent revelations in Parliament once again affirm that this DCDFC policy framework is being utilized as the main vehicle for global promotion of India's film ecosystem.

The Government has also improved production-linked incentives for international filmmaking in India under the same ecosystem. Revised guidelines announced earlier have raised the incentive amount to 40% of the eligible expenditure, consisting of 30% as the base amount, 5% as a bonus for employing at least 15% Indian manpower, and 5% as a bonus for Significant Indian Content (SIC). The incentive amount cap has been significantly raised to Rs. 30 crore (US$ 3.21 million) per project from Rs. 2.50 crore (US$ 0.27 million). The continued policy support is expected to boost investments across studios, location services, AVGC-XR, and other segments of the export-oriented creative economy.
