Indian Government Initiates Pre-Summit to Create a Secure, Validated, and Collaborative Environment for AI Solutions. Centre For Responsible AI (CeRAI - IIT Madras), with the help of the IndiaAI Mission (part of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology), will be having the Pre-Summit Event in Chennai before the India AI Impact Summit 2026 (giving this International Summit the distinction as the first of its kind by being based in the Global South). The agenda will cover a variety of topics focused on developing practical Governance Frameworks that embed Ethical, Responsible, and Secure principles for using Artificial Intelligence in day-to-day tasks and procedures as it expands into every aspect of the workplace. Cooperative and Collaborative environments are vital to establishing Long-term Sustainability within an Artificial Intelligence ecosystem.
At the Pre-Summit event, the Safe & Trusted AI Working Group, led by Prof Balaraman Ravindran, will explore the formation of a Cooperative and Collaborative environment grounded in the principles of Transparency, Accountability, and Global Interoperability. The AI Safety Commons will provide valuable resources and tools (such as datasets, benchmarks, and governance guidelines) to countries in the Global South to support equitable and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence.
