India ranks third in the world's first-ever global research on the rise of centi-millionaires – individuals with assets worth more than Rs. 830 crore (US$ 100 million), according to a new survey. India boasts 1,132 of the world's 25,490 centi-millionaires, outnumbering countries such as the United Kingdom, Russia, and Switzerland in a rapidly increasing and powerful class of super-rich IT giants, financiers, multinational CEOs, and heirs.

According to a report produced by worldwide investment migration advisory firm Henley & Partners, India will overtake China (number 2) as the fastest expanding market for centi-millionaires by 2032, with an expected 80% growth rate in individuals worth more than US$ 100 million. The United States, which ranks first among the world's 25,490 centi-millionaires, is home to 38% (9,730) of worldwide centi-millionaires, although accounting for only 4% of the global population. It is closely followed in second and third place by the large emerging economies of China and India, which have 2,021 and 1,132 centi-millionaires, respectively.

The United Kingdom ranks fourth (with 968 centi-millionaires), closely followed by Germany in fifth position (with 966).
