On October 18, 2022, Gandhinagar, Gujarat hosted the India-Africa Defence Dialogue (IADD) in conjunction with DefExpo 2022. A number of aspects of the IADD's subject, "Adopting Strategy for Synergizing and Strengthening Defence and Security Cooperation," were successfully highlighted in the debate.

In the keynote address, Mr. Rajnath Singh, Minister of Defence described the IADD's central topic as the shared determination of African and Indian nations to investigate new frontiers in defence cooperation, such as capacity building, training, cyber security, maritime security, and counterterrorism.

India and Africa share a robust partnership, which is based on the cooperative framework of ‘SAGAR’ (Security and Growth for All in the Region), drawn upon the ancient ethos of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (The World is One Family), according to Mr. Singh.
