India-AI Impact Summit 2026 reflects India’s growing role in global AI discussions

India's Government is continuing to make progress on its aim to democratise technology, as per the vision of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The Government wants to focus on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help solve significant challenges across all sectors of our society, including health, agriculture, education, governance, and industry, thereby improving people's lives. India's Government has developed a unique approach to AI governance that is inclusive, encourages innovation, and considers the global perspective on AI.

India will host the India-AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi from February 16 through February 20, 2026, as part of its initiative to increase worldwide cooperation on Artificial Intelligence (AI). This is the first such AI Summit on a global scale to be held in the Global South (developing nations) and represents a new opportunity for a more representative and inclusive global discussion about the future of AI. The India-AI Impact Summit 2026 will take place alongside major Global AI events, including the UK AI Safety Summit, AI Seoul Summit, Paris AI Action Summit (co-chaired by India), and the Global AI Summit on Africa. The organisation of the India-AI Impact Summit 2026 underscores India's growing role in shaping the global AI agenda. The themes of the Summit will focus on seven Chakras: Human Capital; Inclusion; Safe and Trusted AI; Resilience; Innovation and Efficiency; Democratizing AI; and AI for Economic Development and Social Impact. These themes address AI Safety, Data Governance, Accountability, Transparency, and Human-Centered Innovation. The purpose of the India-AI Impact Summit 2026 is to create a long-term, actionable roadmap for strengthening global cooperative efforts to ensure responsible AI.
