India AI Impact Summit Receives Phenomenal Global Response, India’s AI Ecosystem Developing in a Systematic Manner

Ahead of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled to take place from February 16-20 at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), has announced a host of significant developments. During a high-profile press briefing, Union Minister Mr. Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that the Summit is already witnessing unprecedented global interest and is likely to witness the largest-ever AI gathering in history, reflecting how the AI ecosystem in India is developing in a planned and deployment-ready manner. The biggest IT companies in the world are set to bring over 200 sector-specific AI models to be showcased at the Summit. Investments in the AI infrastructure of India have touched US$70 billion and are likely to double by the end of the Summit.
The release of ‘The Impact Agenda: Leadership Reflections’ brings together the views of around 60 key industry leaders, offering their perspectives on the future of AI, inclusive innovation, and responsible deployment. During the pre-Summit phase, more than 480 events were held in India and across the world, including 83 international engagements in 30 countries, with Regional AI Impact Conferences organized in seven states. During the Summit, around 500 events will be organized, along with an AI Impact Expo hosting over 840 exhibitors, including country pavilions, ministries, startups, and research institutions. The list of attendees includes 15 Heads of State or Government, over 40 ministers, and more than 100 CEOs and senior leaders, along with key academics. Industry partners who have partnered with the Summit include Jio, Qualcomm, OpenAI, Nvidia, Google, Microsoft, Adobe, and the Gates Foundation. The Summit reaffirmed India’s commitment to safe, trusted, and inclusive AI deployment globally.
