India and Australia are tightening their ties with a migration pact that will facilitate the movement of students, academics, and professionals. The announcement of the agreement was made during Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi's visit to Australia, thereby marking a significant advancement in the bilateral relations between the two nations.
Along with its current consulates in Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney, India also intends to open a new consulate in Brisbane.
The terms of reference for the India-Australia Hydrogen Task Force were also finalised by the two countries as part of their climate change agenda. The task force is focused on green hydrogen prospects as part of its commitment to achieving energy goals and cutting emissions worldwide.
Australian Prime Minister Mr. Anthony Albanese emphasised that initiatives like this task force would promote efforts to reduce emissions globally, support the industry, and help achieve energy goals.
