Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi stated, “We are vibrant democracies, two of the largest economies in the world, and two nations that believe in shared values. Democracy, diversity, and development are the pillars that guide us towards moving forward as natural partners.” While speaking at the India-Canada CEOs Forum in New Delhi, it was stated, “India is the fastest-growing major economy in the world, supported by strong domestic demand, a young population, large-scale investments, and the rapid adoption of digital technologies.” The fact that the economic transformation of India has come about because of sustained reforms and initiatives taken by the Government of India to boost economic growth and improve the ease of doing business was also underlined.
The potential for India and Canada to build on their economic and strategic relationship by leveraging each other’s strengths was also highlighted. It was underscored that the two nations can collaborate across multiple sectors to build new opportunities for growth, innovation, and investment. The Prime Minister also drew an analogy with T-20 cricket matches by stating that “Fast decisions, bold initiatives, and strong partnerships can help us shape the future of both nations.” This reflects the broader vision of strengthening the relationship through enhanced business interactions, innovative collaborations, and economic cooperation, while reiterating the shared democratic values and the need for the two nations to work together.
