India and Slovakia Deepen Economic Partnership as Bilateral Trade Reaches Record High

India and Slovakia are strengthening their economic partnership, with bilateral trade reaching a record Rs. 15,305.43 crore (US$ 1.81 billion) in 2025, reflecting growing cooperation across manufacturing, automobiles, engineering, information technology and infrastructure. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, bilateral trade crossed the Rs. 8,456.04 crore (US$ 1 billion) mark for the first time in 2024 before rising by nearly 28% in 2025. India’s exports to Slovakia increased from Rs. 3,542.08 crore (US$ 419 million) in 2021 to Rs. 12,937.75 crore (US$ 1.53 billion) in 2025, driven by automotive components, engineering goods, machinery, mobile phones, pharmaceuticals and electrical equipment. Imports from Slovakia also rose to Rs. 2,401.52 crore (US$ 284 million), led by passenger vehicles, automobile components and machinery, highlighting the growing integration of supply chains between the two economies.

Investment ties have also strengthened, with Indian and Slovak companies expanding their presence in each other’s markets. The Tata Group’s Jaguar Land Rover manufacturing facility in Nitra, established with an investment of approximately Rs. 12,784.04 crore (US$ 1.51 billion) remains one of the largest Indian investments in Slovakia and employs over 4,400 people. Other Indian companies, including Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), National Engineering Industries, Samvardhana Motherson Group, Dhoot Transmission and Amara Raja Energy & Mobility, have expanded operations across information technology, automotive components, engineering and electric mobility. Slovak firms are also increasing investments in India, particularly in railways, renewable energy, manufacturing and technology, creating new opportunities for industrial cooperation and long-term economic growth.
