India and the Netherlands signed a Memorandum of Intent to cooperate on medical product regulation and to enhance the quality of medical products

In Hague, Netherlands, India and the Netherlands inked a Memorandum of Intent (MoI) to collaborate on medical product regulation and enhance the quality of medical products and healthcare services for both countries. The MoI was signed by Mr. Ernst Kuipers, the Minister of Health, Welfare, and Sports for the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and Mr. Bhagwant Khuba, the Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilisers.

Leading the team from India is Mr. Bhagwant Khuba, who is in the Netherlands from November 6-8, 2023, to participate in the second World Local Production Forum (WLPF) meeting in The Hague. The World Health Organisation (WHO) launched the World Local Production Platform to increase access to medicines and other medical innovations.

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) was also visited by the Minister. He had a fruitful conversation about regulations in the pharmaceutical and medical technology industries with Ms. Carla Van Rooijen, Director of the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Technology Division.

Mr. Bhagwant Khuba visited the largest port in Europe, the Port of Rotterdam, where he spoke with officials and Mr. Boudwijn Simmons, COO, about the port's ambitions for a hydrogen hub. Rotterdam is positioned to become a production transportation hub for hydrogen. He also shared India's Green Hydrogen Mission and India's aim to become a global leader in Green Hydrogen under the able leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modiji. He also visited Bilthoven Biologicals (Cyrus Poonawalla Group) world's largest vaccine producer.
