India and the UAE will conclude the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) by January 2022, making it one the fastest trade agreement between two countries ever made, according to Mr. Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs & Food & Public Distribution and Textiles, Government of India.
The agreement could be mutually beneficial for both the countries, provide each country market access to one another and include elements that are first of its kind for both the countries.
Mr. Goyal also stated that India has largely been able to recover from the severe lockdown imposed during the year with July-September quarter growing at 8.4%, one of the fastest growing growth rates worldwide. India’s investments are at all-time highs and receiving some of the highest FDI and FPI recently. Indian businesses too are growing and export of services and goods have been at an all-time high.
