India and the US are complementary economies, natural and trusted partners, and it’s a great time for collaborations: Mr. Piyush Goyal

The Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution and Textiles, Mr. Piyush Goyal is currently on a three-day tour to the US from January 9-11, 2023. He has addressed two roundtables in New York - Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and US-India Business Council (USIBC) and gave an overview of the reforms undertaken in India in recent years and the remarkable transformation of the business ecosystem in India.

Mr. Piyush Goyal invited the US industry to make use of the unlimited opportunities in India, especially in the sectors like Electric Vehicles (EVs), semiconductors, battery technology, etc.

He emphasized that the India-US bilateral relations have been at an all-time high and there is a huge potential to further strengthen the commercial ties. He also appreciated the contribution of Indian companies to the technology sector of the US, which also adds to the mutual competitiveness and productivity.

The minister also met and held extensive discussions with various Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of leading companies like Mastercard, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and Company, Etsy, Blackstone, etc. The CEOs complimented about the bold economic reforms undertaken by India under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and further expressed optimism at India’s growth trajectory. Mr. Piyush Goyal also invited the CEOs to make use of the growing opportunities and expand their presence in India.
