India and UAE to Deepen Energy and Strategic Ties as Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi Visits Abu Dhabi

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s visit to Abu Dhabi is expected to further strengthen India-UAE cooperation across energy security, trade, strategic partnerships and emerging technologies. The visit comes amid increasing bilateral engagement and growing focus on long-term energy collaboration between the two countries. India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have expanded cooperation in areas such as crude oil supply, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), renewable energy and strategic petroleum reserves, reflecting the UAE’s growing importance in India’s energy security framework. Officials indicated that discussions during the visit are likely to focus on enhancing collaboration in energy infrastructure, investments and long-term strategic partnerships. The visit forms part of a broader diplomatic engagement strategy and highlights the increasing significance of the UAE as one of India’s key economic and geopolitical partners in West Asia.

India and the UAE have significantly strengthened bilateral relations in recent years under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework. Cooperation has expanded across sectors including trade, defence, digital technologies, infrastructure and investment. The implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) has accelerated bilateral trade and strengthened economic integration between the two countries. Both nations are also exploring greater collaboration in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), advanced computing, logistics, fintech and supply-chain resilience. Industry experts noted that closer India-UAE engagement could support investment flows, improve energy security and strengthen India’s access to strategic global markets. The visit is expected to build upon recent high-level engagements and further reinforce India-UAE ties as a key pillar of India’s economic and strategic engagement in the Gulf region.
